Fiber In has always been laid-back event, but there is a loose schedule we’re following each day. For each day, we’ve provided details and highlights, but remember: this is all about your fiber arts experience and spending time with others who share similar interests. Make each day work for you!

If you have questions, visit the FAQ page or send us an email. Now, let’s get into the fiber fun, shall we?

Friday Night:

Welcome reception: Check in, get yourself settled, and then it’s reunion time for returning attendees and a hearty welcome for first-timers! Most if not all of the vendors should be ready for us in the event hall, so bring your favorite WIP (work in progress), your spinning wheel, or just come to shop, and chat.

You’re welcome to bring in snacks and drinks… some people even choose to share a bottle of their favorite beverage!

Door Gift Exchange: Bring something from your stash and get a raffle ticket to receive something from someone else—it’s the ultimate gift exchange for fiber lovers! Please wrap your package as a gift. We collect everything Friday and gifts are given out throughout the day on Saturday via raffle.

Dinner: Dinner is on your own. There are restaurants and grocery stores in the area, as well as in the hotel. We encourage you to have dinner with friends, both old and new.

Saturday:

Breakfast: Breakfast is on your own, but there is a bake sale in the event hall today (see below AND in the FAQ section!). There are restaurants and grocery stores in the area, as well as in the hotel.

Craft time! Bring your WIPs (Works in Progress): The event hall opens in the morning, with chairs and tables ready for you to settle in and craft with other fiber lovers. This is also a wonderful time to display some of your recently finished projects—trust us, we are the people who want to see them!

Make sure you have your raffle ticket for the door gift exchange!

Bake Sale: Are you a baker? Bring and donate a baked good packaged for individual portions. All proceeds benefit The Jennifer Nolletti Memorial Art Foundation. Please consider donating baked goods to help our favorite charity AND feed your fellow crafters as they work on their projects throughout the day! All baked goods donated by attendees are $1 each.

Shopping: Visit the vendors in the event hall and shop, shop, shop!

Demos: The morning is filled with demonstrations (demos) offered by attendees excited to share their most recent fiber art skills. Interested in doing a demo? Email us!

General Shenanigans: One never knows. Stay tuned!

Lunch: Lunch is on your own, or join a group heading to a local restaurant.

Craft time continues! The event hall remains open all day, with chairs and tables ready for you to settle in and craft with other fiber lovers.

Demos: There’s time in the afternoon for more demos offered by attendees and vendors excited to share their most recent fiber art skills

Live Auction: In the afternoon, prepare for the most fiber-envious live auction you’ve ever attended, one that makes this event possible—the auction provides about half the funds needed to keep the Florida Fiber In running and allows us to truly say, “The entrance fee is a donation, and if you can’t afford to donate, please come anyway.” If you’re willing and able, bring an item, yarn, pattern book, or completed fiber project to be auctioned. Whether or not you can afford a cash donation, our auction is a great way to make room in your stash for all your new purchases from our great vendors and do something good for the fiber community. And to make things (even more) interesting, there are plants up for auction as well!

Dinner: Dinner is on your own or join a group heading to a local restaurant.

Sunday:

Breakfast: Breakfast is on your own.

Garage Sale: This is truly one of the most exciting ways to end a fiber-fantasy weekend! Attendees, bring some of your fiber stash you no longer want and perhaps take home some new stash. No prior registration necessary: just grab a table on Sunday morning and start selling your stuff. Buyers, head down early for the best deals! Be prepared with some cash on hand, as many attendees do not have a system to accept credit card payments, but there are some handy cash apps out there, so take advantage of those if you can.
