What a fun weekend! Thank you to everyone who came out.
We managed to just squeak out expenses thanks to the auction which brought in a whopping 1500 dollars. I do believe that is a record for us and so we live to do it again next year In 2025 we are going to Iceland so let’s get our Viking on!
A highlight of the weekend was 2 young girls staying at the hotel with their family who came by during Spin in Public. They both learned spinning and weaving thanks to the demo equipment brought in by Kromski. Their poor dad was groaning when he questioned the costs of the equipment, but he saw how happy they were creating yarn and material. We sent them away with information about other events in the area and how to manage those equipment costs. I think we will see them again!
The Highland Games were so much fun – I will get some pictures posted up on the website hopefully next week. This week has been a bit crazy. In addition to being called back to the office after 4 years working from home and a hurricane, I managed to catch a cold for the first time in 4 years. I have dubbed it “the return to office funk” and felt no guilt taking off Wednesday and sleeping all day.
I am on the East Coast, so our hurricane impacts were minimal, but I have seen a lot of people have trees on their houses and so much water on the West Coast and even inland up north. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys on the West Coast. Please check in so we know you are safe. And if help is needed, please ask.
I hope to see you at Distaff Day in January.
